The Bauchi state Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar has expressed his administration willingness to supports the FG intervention scheme NEGPRO for his state farmers, this was mentioned during the sensitization visit to the state by the lead consultant Tuns Farms Nigeria Limited.
The Chairman Tuns Farm who is also the Asiwaju Musulumi of yoruba land, Asiwaju Olatunde Badmus during the visit, informed the Governor that the Federal Government is ready to support Farmers in the state by extending credit facilities of a minimum of N17m in form of inputs such as feeds, drugs & vaccines and Day old chicks.
He further informed the Governor that the FG is also ready to guarantee the market of the eggs produced by creating a foreward integration plan to the school feeding program by ensuring that eggs and chicken are fed to Pry 1-3 pupils.
Governor Abubakar assured Tuns Farms that his state is ready to support the NEGPRO scheme and as one of the pilot states where the school feeding program would take off by providing interest free loans to poultry farmers in the state to partake in the scheme.
The General Manager Tuns Farm Mr. Seyi Ogunjinmi who is also the National coordinator of the scheme informed that several invitation and request has been received from other states for the consultant to visit in order to sensitize them on the scheme.
The NEGPRO scheme which was launched in June 14 2016 is aimed at creating over 1 million jobs and by ensuring that by 2018 fifty million eggs are produced. The scheme Manager who was appointed based on her track record, expertise and knowledge in the poultry sector spanning over 4 decades is an industry leader.
